Lena Maria Julier, affectionately known as Lelle, has been deeply rooted in the world of winemaking since childhood, having been raised in the family-owned Weingut Schmitzer-Julier. While her parents' winery already specialized in producing organic yet traditional wines, Lelle is driven to carve her own path by crafting wines that exude vibrancy, vitality, and expressiveness.
Located in the tranquil village of Eschbach in Pfalz, just a ninety-minute drive west of Stuttgart, Lelle sources her grapes from the familiar vineyards owned by her parents. Emphasizing the importance of superior grape quality, a natural winemaking approach in the cellar, and a patient demeanor, Lelle creates wines that stand out in the region. Her wines possess a distinctiveness and freshness that diverge from the more traditional offerings of the area, yet they remain deeply connected to the unique terroir of Pfalz.
Currently, Lelle's production centers around the two wines that we offer, totaling approximately 2000 bottles.
When not tending to her vineyards, Lelle works as a traveling master vine pruner for Simonit&Sirch, a company renowned for its expertise in vineyard management. With over thirty years of experience, Simonit&Sirch trains and assists some of the world's most esteemed wine producers. Additionally, Lelle is the wife of another prominent producer and also member of the Simonit&Sirch team, Nikolas Juretic.
We are dedicated to craft wine. Real wine produced by real people in limited quantity, from the new generation of natural winemakers to the classic high-end Burgundians. Sorry, no industrial wine here!
We are not just another Direct-to-Consumer website. Actually, we don't sell directly to consumers at all, as we believe selling wine is an art. We don't want to replace it, rather just make it easier, so you can focus on the art.
We believe the trade should be as fluid as wine. Processes, information and transactions should flow as a fine wine, in and out of a Zalto glass. That's where a Digital Platform can help.
For the wine market to be healthy, firstly it must take care of the producers. We believe that the trade should be fair and transparent, across all channels, from the producer to the final consumer.
