Michi Lorenz

Michi Lorenz does not produce disco wines, but unvarnished wines with depth, characterized by the terroir.

The vineyards are distributed throughout the Sausal and are farmed in a bio-dynamic way. From harvest 2021 even Demeter certified.

Less is more, so the wine is drawn into the bottle as untouched as possible.

His wines often need several years to reach their full drinking maturity, but have enormous storage potential.

Michi Lorenz has many personalities, which are reflected in his creations. From soul mate, to lateral thinker (in a good sense), to revoluzza.

From the classic Wösch to the mash-fermented Wösch, there are many facets to discover.

It is a logical consequence that Michi Lorenz's wines often only inspire after the second or third sip. You can't classify your wines, you can't categorize them, you can't pigeonhole them. Often the grape variety is in the foreground, then again the terroir or the time that the wine got. Lorenz likes to compare his wines to music. There is an art to attracting a lot of attention with soft tones. Not to be loud and to fascinate people at the same time, that's what he wants to achieve. He doesn't make disco wines that are loud and flashy and inspire everyone in the short term, but quiet, deep wines that unfold over time and definitely have rough edges. The authenticity behind his creations is what sets him apart and sets him apart.

But you don't have to be afraid that his wines are only for advanced users. On the contrary - they impress with their great drinking pleasure and make you want more. The typical minerality of the Sausal primary rock is always recognizable, a skilfully balanced acid structure rounds off the arc of suspense. You could describe his wines as slim and structured, but never boring. He dispenses with fertilizer and relies 100 percent on spontaneous fermentation in the tank. With 2018, his winery is in the last year to convert to organic.

Commitment to Craft Wine

Commitment to Craft Wine

We are dedicated to craft wine. Real wine produced by real people in limited quantity, from the new generation of natural winemakers to the classic high-end Burgundians. Sorry, no industrial wine here!

Selling Wine is an Art, Just Like Making It

Selling Wine is an Art, Just Like Making It

We are not just another Direct-to-Consumer website. Actually, we don't sell directly to consumers at all, as we believe selling wine is an art. We don't want to replace it, rather just make it easier, so you can focus on the art.

The Trade Should Be as Liquid as Wine

The Trade Should Be as Liquid as Wine

We believe the trade should be as fluid as wine. Processes, information and transactions should flow as a fine wine, in and out of a Zalto glass. That's where a Digital Platform can help.

Winemakers First, Always

Winemakers First, Always

For the wine market to be healthy, firstly it must take care of the producers. We believe that the trade should be fair and transparent, across all channels, from the producer to the final consumer.
